Job summary

CGT is seeking a Web Developer in Cambridge to own the portfolio of company websites. You will specialize in WordPress, front-end and back-end development, hosting, security, and ongoing improvements.

Requirements include 5+ years in web development, strong PHP/JavaScript/HTML/CSS, experience with Divi and multiple WordPress sites, and a focus on performance, accessibility (AODA/WCAG), and SEO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of web development experience with strong WordPress hands-on work.
• Strong PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills.
• Experience with CDNs, performance optimization, and multisite WordPress deployments.
• Experience migrating websites from external agencies to in-house management.
• Experience with Divi, custom WordPress themes, plugins, and blocks.
• Knowledge of APIs, integrations, hosting, DNS, SSL, and deployments.
• Understanding of SEO, performance, accessibility (AODA/WCAG).
• Experience with Git or other version-control systems.

Responsibilities

• Own development and technical management of multiple company websites.
• Build and maintain responsive WordPress websites and features from concept through launch and support.
• Develop and manage WordPress sites, themes, plugins, and custom blocks (Divi-based).
• Troubleshoot and resolve functionality, performance, compatibility, and security issues.
• Manage WordPress updates, backups, migrations, deployments, and configurations.
• Collaborate with Marketing/Creative to translate designs into functional sites.
• Maintain staging environments and support safe deployment workflows.
• Monitor website uptime, forms, and third-party integrations.
