Job summary

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Mining Environmental Group. You will focus on tailings, water dams, and waste storage for mining, with opportunities to specialize or participate in project management.

You will collaborate across regions to apply critical thinking, build client relationships, and deliver high-quality water resources solutions while supporting career development and a flexible work model.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering; master’s degree considered an asset.
• 15+ years’ civil design experience related to surface water controls for mining or related industries.
• Eligible to register as Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Experience in hydrotechnical design analyses (e.g., water balance, open channel flow, erosion protection).
• Ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients, colleagues, and suppliers on field programs and design solutions.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analysis including flood mapping, water balance analysis, and hydraulic modelling.
• Incorporate climate change resiliency in hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
• Support mine water management design and optimization.
• Build client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closure.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate water management systems into overall design and operation.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and other documentation related to water resources engineering.
