Digital Extremes is seeking an experienced Senior VFX Artist to join our team. You will create high-quality real-time visual effects for our games, balancing memory usage and gameplay performance while collaborating across art, design, and development.

You should bring a strong portfolio, expert knowledge of game engines and 3D software. Preferred extras include Maya, Houdini, Photoshop, and scripting in Python or Lua.

• 5+ years of professional experience creating high-quality VFX for video games.
• Deep understanding of real-time special effects, particle systems, postprocessing effects, shaders, and animation principles.
• Strong artistic portfolio.
• Strong grasp of game engines, tools, pipelines, and development processes, along with working knowledge of a commercial 3D package.
• University degree in visual arts (specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications, or fine arts) or a college diploma in graphic arts

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Digital Extremes is seeking an experienced Senior VFX Artist to join our team. You will utilize traditional art training and knowledge of 3D art, design, and computer graphics software to build efficient, high-quality special effects while maintaining technical specifications for memory usage and gameplay speed. As an adaptable communicator and proactive collaborator, you will work closely across multi-disciplinary teams to elevate artistic vision and iterate through active feedback. You bring a thorough understanding of real-time visual effects, game engines, tools, and development pipelines, paired with the strong time-management skills needed to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Preferred extras include experience with Maya, JangaFx, Houdini, Photoshop, and scripting languages such as Python or Lua.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience creating high-quality VFX for video games.
• Core VFX Knowledge: Deep understanding of real-time special effects, particle systems,
  postprocessing effects, shaders, and animation principals

• Strong artistic portfolio
• Pipeline & Tools: Strong grasp of game engines, tools, pipelines, and development processes, along with working knowledge of a commercial 3D package.
• Education: University degree in visual arts (specialization in graphic design, commercial art, graphic communications, or fine arts) or a college diploma in graphic arts

  Please note that the salary range mentioned in this job description should serve simply as a guide. The final compensation offered may vary based on a variety of factors, including bonuses and/or incentives, or a candidate’s experience, skills, budget and location.
