Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management seeks a Senior Mine Engineer / Planner to provide senior-level underground mine planning and engineering support for an active operation on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks out rotation, with camp accommodations and travel support.

The successful candidate will develop short- and long-term mine plans, optimize stopes and sequencing, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across geology, operations, and maintenance to drive safety and productivity improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive mine engineering experience.
• Strong underground mining experience with planning, stope design, and production optimization.
• Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level mine engineering support to mining operations and project teams.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term mine plans, schedules, and production strategies.
• Support underground mine planning activities including stope layouts, sequencing, development planning, and optimization.
• Review and optimize mining methods, designs, and operational approaches.
• Provide technical support related to ventilation planning and mine infrastructure.
• Collaborate with geology, operations, maintenance, and technical services teams to improve mine performance.
• Prepare engineering designs, reports, technical studies, and recommendations.
• Support mine design reviews, feasibility studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mining engineers and staff.
• Support the implementation of engineering standards and best practices.
