Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer in Calgary to lead transportation design projects across Alberta and Western Canada. You willdirectly impact transit and roadway solutions, oversee QA processes, and coordinate with structural, environmental, and other teams to deliver safe, efficient mobility.

You will bring 10+ years of roadway experience, a PE/P.Eng license, and strong leadership and communication skills to guide multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and contribute to HDR's

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of roadway engineering design experience.
• PE or P.Eng license recognized by the licensing board.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, and CAD base alignment.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role on transportation design projects with a focus on transit and road work in Alberta and Western Canada.
• Perform quality assurance checks on urban streets, major highway and freeway projects.
• Serve as a technical resource with authority in highways and roadways design.
• Assume project management duties and client development activities as needed.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams and support budgets and schedules.
• Perform other duties as needed.
