Job summary

Arterra Wines Canada is seeking a Senior Total Rewards Specialist reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards to shape and deliver Total Rewards programs across the organization. You will lead compensation processes, salary reviews, short- and long-term incentives, job evaluation, and market benchmarking while partnering with People & Culture and business leaders.

In addition to compensation, you will contribute to benefits, wellness, recognition, communications, compliance, and process improvement,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Total Rewards, compensation, or a similar HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, job evaluation, market benchmarking, incentive programs, and compensation analytics.
  • Experience administering compensation programs through an HCM or HR system; Workday experience is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to build, review, and improve complex reports, models, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with executive compensation and/or long-term incentive plans is considered an asset.
  • Professional designation or working toward a designation such as CHRP, CEBS, CPA, or a compensation-related certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute core compensation processes, including annual salary review, short-term incentive plans, long-term incentive plans, salary structure maintenance, and related governance activities.
  • Manage end-to-end compensation activities, including budgeting, modelling, data validation, system updates, exception analysis, and recommendations for business leaders.
  • Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, compensation analysis, and benchmarking activities to support competitive and internally equitable pay decisions.
  • Participate in compensation surveys and translate market data into clear insights, tools, and recommendations.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and analytical models using Excel, Workday, and other tools to support decision-making and improve efficiency.
  • Act as a trusted Total Rewards advisor to People & Culture partners and business leaders, with a particular focus on compensation-related matters.
  • Support broader Total Rewards programs and initiatives, including benefits, wellness, recognition, employee communications, governance, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls, improve the employee experience, and support scalable Total Rewards practices.
  • Create clear communications, resources, and training materials to help employees, leaders, and HR partners understand Total Rewards programs.
  • Contribute to key projects, system initiatives, audits, and cross-functional activities as a Total Rewards subject matter expert.

Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the Senior Total Rewards Specialist will play a key role in shaping and delivering Arterra Wines Canada’s Total Rewards programs across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong compensation expertise with broader Total Rewards exposure, business partnership, analytics, and continuous improvement. With a strong specialization in compensation, this position will lead and support key programs such as salary reviews, short-term and long-term incentives, job evaluation, market benchmarking, compensation analytics, and governance. The role will also contribute to a variety of broader Total Rewards initiatives, including benefits, wellness, recognition, communications, compliance, and process improvement. As a subject matter expert, the Senior Total Rewards Specialist will partner closely with People & Culture colleagues and business leaders to deliver practical, competitive, and employee-focused solutions.

Compensation:

Budgeted Range $75,072 - $103,224. The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra. The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
