Job summary

Unity, the world’s leading game engine, is seeking a Documentation writer to join the Documentation team in Montreal. You will help creators succeed by producing concise, structured, and unambiguous content that explains Unity features and APIs.

Working closely with engineering teams and product managers, you’ll develop content that informs, guides, and inspires across products and SDKs. You will craft user- and developer-focused documentation, lead by example, and help set standards for

By producing concise, structured, and unambiguous content, you will impact the accuracy of AI outputs and reasoning. As a member of the Documentation team at Unity, you will be responsible for information quality. In this role, you will gain a deep technical understanding of Unity products by working closely with engineering teams and the technologies themselves. You will apply that understanding and your writing skills to create content that explains and inspires. You will also collaborate with other writers to build a consistent and cohesive content experience across products, to build standards for coverage and style, to learn from one another, and to elevate writing at Unity.

What you’ll be doing

• Create, review, and improve AI-assisted drafts of sets of technical content (user and developer guides, API references, SDKs, code samples) for multiple products and features
• Contribute to content strategy for complex content sets
• Partner with product managers and engineers to understand each feature’s underlying technology, target audience, and documentation needs
• Lead by example in ensuring that documentation is as clear, concise, accurate, and usable as possible
• Advocate for users during feature development to enhance workflows and make products easier to use

What we’re looking for

• Technical depth and hands-on experience with software development workflows and concepts
• The ability to distill sophisticated technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand, user-focused documentation
• A successful track record delivering high-quality content in a fast-paced software development environment
• The ability to lead by example and provide guidance and coaching to less experienced writers. You might also have
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages, game development, digital artistry, or real-time 3D development
• Experience with source control software such as Github or Subversion to manage file changes across versions

Cette fourchette correspond au salaire de base prévu pour ce poste. This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position.
