We're looking for a Senior Technical Writer with a flair for creating concise, easy to use content to join our team as we scale MaintainX’s documentation practice.

What You'll Do
  • Write, review, and publish content for the MaintainX help center, including: user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, changelogs & release notes, and in-platform user assistance.
  • Own the docs for whole product areas and work closely with product teams to align documentation with user needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders from Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Customer Education, and others.
  • Help improve the documentation team’s tooling, processes & practices, and contribute to documentation strategy.
  • Support internal documentation and docs-adjacent initiatives.
About You
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience writing technical product documentation, or in a related discipline.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills. You can communicate complex technical topics to non-technical or non-tech-industry audiences.
  • User-focused: You strive to understand user needs and pain points, and you're not afraid to get hands-on with the product to understand the user experience.
  • Comfortable working in a docs-like-code environment (using static-site generators, Git-based version control, etc.), and/or the ability to pick up new tools and workflows quickly.
  • Editorial skills: You can work as a style guide. You're comfortable with copyediting and providing higher-level developmental edits.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and own documentation projects from start to finish.
Extra Consideration For Candidates With The Following
  • A degree or diploma in technical communication, instructional design, or a related field
  • Portfolio of work and/or writing samples
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or French
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Localization workflows
  • Documentation analytics
  • SaaS products
  • Industrial maintenance or maintenance management
  • UX writing or content design
  • API/developer docs
  • Using AI tools to accelerate content development
