Job summary

Sledgehammer Games in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Senior Technical Animator with a focus on game scripting and cinematic scenes implementation to join our team. You will work closely with Designers, Animators, and Technical Animators to build immersive content for major titles.

Your Mission

We are building a culture of collaboration and seeking an imaginative, skillful, and versatile Senior Technical Animator with a focus on game scripting and cinematic scenes implementation to join our team in Toronto, Canada. If you share a passion for developing groundbreaking worlds and player experiences, then this may be the position you've been waiting for!

Work with established game engine and animation systems within digital creation tools.

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of Designers, Animators and Technical Animators cultivating a positive team dynamic.

Work quickly and effectively to support content creators.

Technical design and narrative scene support, and animation prop rig creation.

Player Profile
  • Experience in game scripting, technical design, animation roles or technical art.
  • Professional or personal experience working with real time game engines.
  • Good understanding of proprietary engine and related tools.
  • Strong artistic skills and working knowledge of 3D art production.
  • Working understanding of Python tool and pipeline development.
  • The ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the development team.
  • Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • Must be flexible and comfortable with prototyping and quick iteration.
  • An adaptable and continuous learning attitude.
Bonus Points
  • Technical Animation/Art Degree.
  • Proficiency in building skeletons, skinning and rigging in Maya
  • Knowledge of real-time physics and ragdolls, pre-baked simulation, or shader creation.
  • Experience in in-game cinematics and capturing and editing skills.
