CDW is actively seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands‑on Senior Systems & Cloud Engineer for a 6‑month contract opportunity to support our mining industry client across Canada on a remote, hybrid, or onsite basis. In this critical infrastructure leadership role, you will lead a comprehensive assessment of server, storage, identity, and cloud environments within the first 90 days, delivering a gap analysis and a prioritized 2027-2028 roadmap. You will leverage your deep expertise in enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure landing zones, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper‑V), and PowerShell automation to define and implement enterprise infrastructure standards supporting OT/IT integration. This opportunity requires an elite systems and cloud engineer with extensive mining or industrial sector experience and readiness to travel to the Rook I site in Northern Saskatchewan.
As a Senior Systems & Cloud Engineer supporting CDW’s client, you will take full technical ownership of infrastructure assessments, cloud architecture design, and modernization roadmaps across industrial and mining sector environments. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities include designing, building, deploying, and operationalizing infrastructure and cloud solutions from concept through production, establishing Azure landing zones, governance, IaaS, security, and cost optimization frameworks. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure system interoperability, transition infrastructure from managed services to in‑house operations, and support greenfield projects and build‑outs. Furthermore, you will execute PowerShell automation, configure Microsoft Entra ID and PKI security controls, and meet site security and travel requirements for Northern Saskatchewan deployments.
