Job summary

J.S. Held is seeking a Technician to support drafting design processes for restoration of buildings after incidents. On-site measurements and sketches lead to Revit-based drawings, with collaboration across project managers, contractors, and officials.

You will ensure code compliance with the Alberta Building Code, review peer drawings, and manage time to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety on sites. Hybrid work includes office and field visits in Alberta and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• College certificate in a related field is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' direct experience in structural design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take measurements on site and prepare rough sketches.
• Research code requirements and prepare permit drawings.
• Develop structural designs and drafting for restoration using Revit.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company expectations.
• Review drawings for quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and officials as needed.
• Manage time to meet deadlines.
• Maintain safety procedures on site.
• Log billable hours accurately with project numbers.
