Job summary

Benevity is seeking a Senior Staff Developer for User Identity & Access Management (UIAM) to shape the technical direction of our identity platform, serving Fortune 100 customers and nonprofit partners.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will combine hands-on full-stack engineering with architectural leadership to design and scale secure authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycles using tools like Auth0, Okta, and Ping.

Qualifications

8+ years of scalable software development with at least 2 years in technical leadership.
Deep IAM expertise including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SSO.
Hands-on with Auth0 tenant architecture and integrations with Okta/Ping.
Strong API-first architecture and cloud-native delivery.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for UIAM by architecting the evolution of our identity platform including authentication, SSO and authorization.
Design secure and scalable identity capabilities on public cloud platforms leveraging Auth0 as the core for human and M2M clients.
Make AI a natural extension of your engineering practice to increase velocity and quality through secure AI-assisted development lifecycles.
Partner with security teams to embed zero-trust least-privilege and secure-by-design practices aligned with modern identity standards.
Collaborate with product managers to translate complex business and customer identity requirements into actionable technical specifications.
Mentor senior developers through practical hands-on examples and constructive feedback to foster an inclusive engineering culture.
Create clear architectural documentation and promote industry-standard tools.
