Job Summary

The Senior Splunk Developer supports, maintains, and enhances a complex Splunk environment used for enterprise analytics and cybersecurity monitoring. This position ensures system performance, implements improvements, and provides expert-level consultation on data visualization, solution architecture, and integration initiatives. The role plays a critical part in advancing Splunk’s capabilities to deliver business and operational insights across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for Splunk operations, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and deliver enhancements to improve system performance.
  • Ensure environments are configured for high availability and meet enterprise security standards.
Data Visualization & Analytics
  • Design, automate, and manage data visualizations, dashboards, and reports leveraging Splunk.
  • Build dashboards and mobile reports, ensuring usability and adherence to visualization best practices.
  • Integrate Splunk data with analytics platforms such as Azure and Power BI.
Collaboration & Architecture
  • Work with business and technical partners to assess data needs and recommend effective Splunk solutions.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to evolve data storage and transformation architecture.
  • Mentor team members on best practices for development, analysis, and operations.
Solution Delivery & Development
  • Contribute to agile development cycles, implementation design, and documentation.
  • Identify gaps between project requirements and available data.
  • Develop and test dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and performance.
  • Follow best practices in Splunk object creation, metadata management, and unit testing.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands‑on experience with Splunk, including Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) and Splunk ITSI.
  • Proven ability to manage, configure, and troubleshoot large Splunk deployments.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity analytics, enterprise monitoring, or IT operations.
Required Certifications
  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect (mandatory).
  • Other relevant Splunk certifications are an asset.
Preferred Experience
  • 4+ years working specifically with Splunk Enterprise Security (ES).
  • 2+ years developing dashboards, analytics, and mobile Splunk reports.
  • 2+ years integrating Splunk data with analytics platforms such as Azure and Power BI.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff and participating in enterprise Agile programs.
Required Skills
  • Expertise in Splunk search processing language (SPL) and dashboard development.
  • Strong understanding of data ingestion, normalization, and correlation within Splunk.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analysis, and troubleshooting abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaboration across business and technical teams.
  • Proficiency in automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills
  • Experience designing technical metadata and report documentation.
  • Familiarity with operational testing and validation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex data sets and performance tuning.
