Job summary

Kepler Communications is seeking a Senior Spectrum Engineer in Toronto to lead spectrum engineering and regulatory compliance for next‑gen LEO satellite systems. You will translate ITU regulations into practical system requirements and guide cross‑functional teams in RF design, coordination, and performance optimization.

You will develop models, assess interference risks, and support ITU filings while leveraging tools like STK and Git to ensure robust system solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ITU regulations and spectrum management.
• Experience in satellite communications and RF systems.
• Familiarity with international spectrum frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority on spectrum engineering and regulatory compliance for Kepler’s satellites.
• Develop system models incorporating spectrum regulations and interference constraints.
• Define spectrum functionality in satellite resource-management software.
• Identify spectrum risks and optimization opportunities.
• Lead assessments on emission masks, RF propagation, and link performance.
• Conduct compatibility and interference analyses for NGSO/GSO and terrestrial systems.
• Support ITU filings and regulatory submissions to authorities.
• Develop and maintain software tools for regulatory compliance evaluation.
• Establish methodologies, validation practices, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate spectrum risks.
