Job Description:
  • Issue and manage purchase orders supporting Microchip's internal manufacturing.
  • Use advanced computer skills to establish reporting for activities and exceptions.
  • Prepare RFQs and specifications, evaluate quotations, and prepare contracts meeting national and international requirements.
  • Plan and execute effective commercial negotiation strategies and tactics.
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with manufacturing and planning teams to address supply chain risks and improve processes.
  • Stay informed on economic and industrial trends affecting markets and prices.
  • Report on purchasing performance and drive root cause/corrective actions with suppliers.
Key Technical Purchasing & Supply Chain Competencies:
  • Drive process systemization within the supply chain.
  • Understand purchasing policies and process flows to improve ERP system setup and train colleagues.
  • Resolve accounts payable/receivable discrepancies.
  • Address delivery/receiving discrepancies.
  • Deliver effective customer service in diverse purchasing environments.
  • Understand specifications, sourcing, and partnering.
  • Apply negotiation techniques and tactics.
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or purchasing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, accounting, or finance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 / INFOR LN preferred.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CFPIM, or CSCP) preferred.
  • Potential for increased responsibility in the future.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with computerized manufacturing systems and ERP/MRP.
  • Proven planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Pay Range:

Annual base salary ranges from $53,000 to $90,000, depending on location, skills, and experience. Our total compensation package includes competitive base pay, restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits from day one, retirement plans, and an industry-leading IESPP program with a 6-month look-back feature.
