Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton in Oakville is seeking a Senior Specialist, Debt Solutions to lead debtor file execution and deliver exceptional client service. You will assist in growing the insolvency practice, respond to debtors, conduct sign-ups, and manage follow-ups with creditors and stakeholders.

A college diploma in a related field and solid interpersonal skills are expected. You will build relationships with debtors and OSB, assess budgets, and ensure compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency

Qualifications

• Insolvency industry experience is an asset.
• College diploma in Business Administration, Paralegal or related field preferred.
• In insolvency and sales experience would be an asset.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients and liaise with team members.
• High computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication with clients and staff.
• Ability to speak French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Leading the execution of debtor files and delivering exceptional client service.
• Assist in growth of the insolvency practice in the community and surrounding areas.
• Respond promptly to initial contact from debtors by phone or email.
• Conduct initial interviews and sign-up meetings with debtors.
• Timely follow-up on potential debtors.
• Input debtor documentation and workbooks into Ascend and prepare sign-up documents.
• Review files for accuracy and compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
• Build positive working relationships with debtors, creditors, OSB and stakeholders.
• Assess clients’ budget plans and financial goals.
• Deliver an empathetic client experience and communicate with clients, creditors, and third parties.
• Monitor status and progress of debt relief options and filings.

As a Senior Specialist, Debt Solutions, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the execution of debtor files, while providing exceptional client service to a wide variety of sector specific requirements


• Assisting the firm in the development and growth of its existing insolvency practice in the your community and surrounding areas


• Responding promptly to initial contact from debtors by telephone, email, etc.


• Conducting initial interviews and meetings with debtors, including doing the sign up


• Timely follow up on potential debtors


• Input debtor documentation and workbook into Ascend and prepare sign up documents


• Review files for comparison and appropriateness


• Ensure full compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and directives in the delivery of service


• Building positive working relationships with debtors, referral sources, the Office of Superintendent (OSB) and all other stakeholders


• Assess clients’ budget plans and financial goals


• Deliver an excellent and empathetic experience for the clients


• Communicating with clients, creditors and other third parties


• Monitor the status and progress of debt relief options and filings

To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $62,300- 85,700 in Oakville. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
