Job summary

Affinity is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead end-to-end sourcing, procurement, and contract lifecycle management for AltaGas’ major capital projects. You will drive competitive sourcing events, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract administration across the full lifecycle.

The role requires 8+ years in sourcing/procurement, strong negotiation and stakeholder management, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in sourcing, procurement, contract management, or supply chain.
• Strong experience leading competitive sourcing events and negotiations.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management.
• SCMP or equivalent professional designation.
• Experience with EPC/EPCM, construction, engineering, or energy sector.
• Oracle ERP or similar procurement system experience.

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to be responsible for the end-to-end sourcing, procurement, and contract lifecycle management of complex goods and services supporting AltaGas’ major capital projects. This role leads competitive sourcing initiatives, supplier selection, commercial and contractual negotiations, purchase order issuance, and contract management activities, including administration, amendments, change management, claims, and closeout, in accordance with AltaGas Supply Chain policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities in accordance with AltaGas Supply Chain policies and procedures.
• Develop sourcing strategies and execute competitive sourcing events, including RFXs, supplier evaluations, and market assessments.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers based on commercial, technical, operational, and risk considerations.
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations to optimize value, performance, and risk allocation.
• Recommend appropriate contracting and compensation models based on project scope, complexity, market conditions, and risk profile.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including preparation, negotiation, execution, amendments, claims, renewals, and closeout of contracts and purchase orders.
• Provide commercial guidance to stakeholders on sourcing strategies, supplier selection, contract structures, and commercial risks.
• Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, commercial obligations, and spend commitments.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, contractual, supplier, and supply chain risks.
• Validate invoices, manage commercial reconciliations, and support the resolution of contractual disputes and claims.
• Provide market intelligence and commercial recommendations to support supplier selection decisions.
• Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, optimize costs, and enhance procurement and contracting practices.
• Maintain procurement and contract documentation to support governance, compliance, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, contract management, or supply chain experience.
• Strong experience leading competitive sourcing events and commercial negotiations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of procurement best practices, contract formation, and supplier management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong understanding of project execution, contract lifecycles, and commercial management principles.
• Strong experience in claims, change management, and contract law.
• Strong communication, influencing, and negotiating skills.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• SCMP or equivalent professional designation.
• Experience with EPC/EPCM, construction, engineering, equipment, services, or material supply agreements.
• Experience supporting major capital projects and/or the energy sector.
• Experience with sourcing methodologies, commercial evaluation, and supplier qualification processes.
• Oracle ERP or similar procurement system experience.
