Job summary

Dillon Consulting Limited in London, Ontario is seeking a hands‑on Solutions Architect to own solution and technical architecture across our technology portfolio. This permanent, senior role sits within our IT Solutions team and collaborates with a 10‑member software development crew to deliver practical designs.

The position is full‑time hybrid with on‑site presence at least three days weekly, with Dillon's Canadian offices nationwide.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Proven expertise with architecture modeling frameworks (UML) and cross‑domain knowledge (Business/Data/Application/Technology/Security).
• Deep expertise in .NET, SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server or MySQL.
• Proficiency with integration and automation technologies including APIs, ETL, RPA, workflow automation, business rules engines, and low‑code platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Azure experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Stay hands‑on: build proofs of concept and reference implementations with developers.
• Own integration points between ERP and legacy systems, front‑end, back‑end, and satellite systems; flag risks early.
• Establish and maintain the reference architecture for external‑facing applications, including API design and patterns.
• Set the architectural direction for AI‑enabled solutions and evaluation standards.
• Champion AI‑assisted development and coding assistants within engineering practices.
• Apply architectural standards to define non‑functional requirements and guidelines.
• Resolve infrastructure and development issues through pragmatic design.
• Produce architecture artifacts: diagrams, decision records, transition plans.
