Job summary

Intact is seeking a Senior Solution Data & AI Architect to shape the next generation of data and AI platforms. You will lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and business leaders to design scalable, secure architectures that deliver real business value.

You will drive modern architectural approaches, define reusable services, and oversee governance. This role offers a hybrid model in Canada and a path to influence strategic tech decisions.

Salary range (but not limited to):

128,300 - 156,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

What you’ll do here:

Design architecture that delivers business value:

• Lead the architecture and design of Data, AI, and GenAI solutions supporting strategic business initiatives.
• Create solution architectures, architecture blueprints, design patterns, and implementation roadmaps that guide delivery teams from concept to production.
• Ensure architectures are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
• Translate business requirements into practical, actionable solution designs.

Shape the evolution of our Data & AI platforms:

• Drive adoption of modern architectural approaches including cloud‑native, event‑driven, API‑first, and serverless patterns where appropriate.
• Design AI and machine learning architectures, orchestration, deployment, serving, monitoring, and governance capabilities.
• Help define reusable platform services, reference architectures, and technical standards that accelerate delivery across multiple products.
• Assess emerging technologies, industry trends, and market solutions to identify opportunities that create business value.

Provide technical leadership across delivery teams:

• Partner closely with product, engineering, data, security, and platform teams to guide architecture decisions throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Lead architecture discussions with senior technology and business leaders and help shape strategic technology decisions.
• Facilitate architecture reviews and provide architectural oversight for complex initiatives.
• Help teams navigate technical trade‑offs, dependencies, risks, and implementation challenges.
• Promote engineering excellence and architectural consistency while enabling teams to innovate.

Drive architecture practices and standards:

• Contribute to architecture governance, principles, standards, and best practices across the Data and AI ecosystem.
• Foster alignment across multiple product teams through reusable patterns, reference architectures, common services, and shared architectural approaches that accelerate delivery while reducing complexity.
• Lead technology assessments, proof of concepts, and build‑versus‑buy evaluations to support strategic technology decisions and platform investments.
• Perform risk assessments and build‑versus‑buy analyses and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

Mentor and influence:

• Coach and mentor architects, engineers, and technical leaders.
• Advocate for architecture quality, simplicity, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Build strong partnerships across teams and help create a collaborative architecture community.
• Act as a trusted advisor who can challenge assumptions and guide teams toward better outcomes.

What you bring to the table:

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Application Architecture, or related technology leadership roles.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data‑driven solutions in cloud environments.
• Track record of successfully leading architecture for complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English‑speaking colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Data & AI architecture expertise:

• Experience designing modern Data and AI architectures
• Strong understanding of data platform architecture, data integration patterns, and large‑scale data processing.
• Experience defining architecture patterns for AI and ML solutions, including experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and operationalization.
• Familiarity with GenAI architectures, orchestration frameworks, retrieval patterns, AI agents, and model integration approaches.
• Experience with AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, AWS Bedrock AgentCore, Databricks, Apache Iceberg, LangChain and LangGraph, Snowflake.

Cloud and engineering foundations:

• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud‑native architecture patterns.
• Experience with event‑driven architectures, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, MLOps, observability, and automation practices.

Leadership and collaboration:

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong experience working with Agile product and delivery teams.
• Natural collaborator who enjoys mentoring others and building consensus around architectural direction.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
• Ability to balance business value, technical excellence, cost, risk, and delivery objectives.
