Job Description

Hi there, we’re Article. Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, which involves solving challenging, meaningful problems. We are seeking two (2) experienced Senior Software Engineers (Back End - Java) to lead the integration of Shopify's Point of Sale (POS) system into our existing technology ecosystem. This is part of an exciting project to expand into new brick-and-mortar locations and implement modern POS solutions.

Details:

• Start Date: Immediate
• Target Completion Date: December 31, 2025
• Work Environment: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote per week

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Collaborate with SMEs on existing systems and Shopify POS
• Review documentation and understand system architecture
• Design and implement solutions, including updates to Shopify POS and internal systems
• Ensure testing, documentation, and stakeholder acceptance
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Participate in Agile processes and report progress

Qualifications

• Experience working with Java (Spring, Play), MySQL RDS, DynamoDB
• Familiarity with AWS and building integrations
• Ability to work independently and with stakeholders
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Background check clearance

Assets

• Experience with Kafka, POS, Shopify eCommerce
