Tree Trust in Ottawa is seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) to join the User team. The role focuses on supporting Authentication and Authorization in products, ensuring user account management across services. We require a talented engineer with a passion for service ownership and a collaborative mindset.
The candidate should have over 5 years of backend application experience, particularly with Python and various frameworks. The position is primarily remote, requiring occasional in-office attendance.
We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer I (Backend) to be part of the User team in Canada. The User team is responsible for supporting Authentication & Authorization within the SurveyMonkey product, as well as providing backend services for managing user accounts and teams. We are looking for a talented engineer who has a passion for service ownership, AuthN + AuthZ, and is invested in ensuring our user’s account state is maintained. All while working alongside many other teams to provide customer value in our extensive product portfolio.
The base pay provided for this position ranges from CAD $103,200/ year - $129,00/ year depending on the geographic market and assuming a full‑time schedule. Actual base pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job‑related knowledge, education or training, skills, and experience.

SurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem‑solving and decision‑making. As such, you will be required to work from our Ottawa office up to 1 day per week. Primarily a remote position, employees within 50km of the office are asked to come in every other Tuesday for sprint ceremonies.
