Job summary

lululemon Athletica is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Dev Ops for Retail Services in Canada. The role focuses on secure, reliable, and performant production systems across the retail tech stack.

You will mentor engineers, support pre-prod to prod deployments, and contribute to a high-velocity Agile release process. Hybrid workplace with onsite collaboration required, including four days per week in the office.

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience in DevOps or related field.
  • Proven experience with GitLab CI/CD and automation tools.
  • Strong Kubernetes and containerization knowledge, especially EKS.
  • Experience with Kafka for real-time data processing and streaming.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps environments.
  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes, AWS, or security-related fields are a plus.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tooling like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, PagerDuty, ELK).
  • Familiarity with cost optimization and resource rightsizing.
  • Retail or e-commerce domain experience is beneficial.

core responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will bring a high level of technical knowledge as well as strong mentoring abilities. You will be counted on as a leader in your technology space as you contribute to all areas of development and operations (pre-production to production). You will work closely with a Technology Manager, using your experience and knowledge to guide a team of Engineers though their day-to-day process, and provide a central escalation point for production concerns. You will be part of an Agile production release team and may perform on-call support functions as needed. As a Senior Software Engineer, you would be a primary caretaker of production systems and would maintain a deep understanding of how delivered products are functioning.

qualifications
  • Completed Bachelor’s degreeor diploma (or equivalent experience)inComputerScience, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • 6-8 years of experience
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on one of the following pillars: Security, Build Automation, EKS, or Kafka.
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD and automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes and containerization technologies, particularly EKS.
  • Experience with Kafka for real-time data processing and streaming.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in a DevOps environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes, AWS, or security-related fields.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk and PagerDuty or ELK stack.
  • Previous experience in a retail or e-commerce environment.
  • Strong experience with IaC
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and resource rightsizing
  • Comfortable being in an on-call rotation
  • Experience with ArgoCD is a plus
  • Experience with operations as code is a plus

compensation and benefits package

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from $ 132,600 - $174,000 CAD annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
