Athennian Group, a fast-moving, AI-forward governance software provider, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain scalable solutions for hundreds of thousands of entities worldwide.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to architecture decisions, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality. This distributed role supports Canada-based remote workers with potential proximity to offices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
• Startup/Scale-Up background with fast-paced shipping and iteration.
• Production AI experience including real-world AI features (RAG, LLM integrations, vector search, or AI agents).

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, test, and deploy high-quality, scalable software solutions.
• Contribute to system architecture with a focus on configurability and maintainability.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code integrity.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features.
• Ensure security, performance, and code quality through reviews.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges and improve development processes.
• Stay up-to-date with LLM integrations and automated testing advancements.
• Provide technical mentorship on modern engineering practices.
