The Team :

Join the S&P Global Ratings team as a Sr. Software Engineer within the Structured Finance Value Stream. Our team possesses extensive expertise in the Ratings organizations data domains technology stacks and architectural patterns. We emphasize knowledge sharing and collaboration fostering a unified strategy. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of S&P Ratings next-generation analytics platform.

Responsibilities and Impact
  • Oversee the complete SDLC: architecture design development and support of technical solutions.
  • Actively participate in all scrum ceremonies and effectively follow SAFe / AGILE best practices.
  • Play a key role in the development team building high-quality high-performance and scalable code.
  • Produce technical design documents and conduct technical walkthroughs.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions using technical design docs diagrams and stubbed code.
  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Respond to and resolve production issues promptly.
  • Mentor team members innovate and experiment and present business ideas to key stakeholders.
What Were Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java for concurrent and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing user Interfaces using React HTML5 XML & CSS.
  • Experience in design development and architectural exposure ensuring quality across various technology components developed by geographically diverse software engineers.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and understanding data models.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs & microservices-based solutions.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.
  • Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies such as SAFe / Agile and Test-driven development.
  • Proficiency in development environments including IDE web & application servers GIT Azure DevOps unit-testing tools and defect management tools.

Additional Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Domain knowledge in the Financial Industry and Capital Markets.
  • Working knowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2 ECS Load Balancer Security Group EMR Lambda S3 Glue etc.).
  • Experience in DevOps development and deployment using containers.
  • Python experience is a plus.
