This role is required to be in-person in Cambridge, United Kingdom (4 days a week).

The Role

We're looking for driven and pragmatic product-minded software engineers, who care about user experience and have experience of scaling consumer applications - in particular of ensuring a consistently great experience for users regardless of what device they're on.

What You'll Do
  • Building new product features (full-stack, with frontend focus)
  • Designing non-functional app features (e.g. offline support, improving observability)
  • Contributing to technical roadmap planning
  • Working with product/UX to iterate on the app design and requirements
  • Participating in bug triage/diagnosis and incident investigations
  • Improving test coverage of the app (especially across a variety of user devices)
  • Making data driven decisions about app changes

You’ll collaborate closely with the rest of the engineering / UX team, work directly with company leadership, and see the impact of your work on real patients.

About You
  • You have strong programming skills (ideally in TypeScript / Python) and experience of full stack web development
  • You enjoy working with design and product teams to help shape exceptional products
  • You care deeply about your users - championing great experience and access to quality clinical care
  • You take initiative and ownership of your work, and communicate clearly

We're hiring for this role at a range of seniority levels. Additionally, for more experienced hires:

  • You've built and scaled consumer facing production web applications
  • You've maintained applications long term, and seen how early decisions play out as systems grow
  • You've developed and tested frontends for widespread use across a range of devices / browsers
  • You have experience of mentoring team members, and maturing engineering processes
Bonus Points

Whilst not required, experience in any of these areas will definitely stand out - let us know if you have any!

  • iOS/Android app development (native or otherwise)
  • Software medical devices (or another regulated industry)
  • Startup experience
  • Able to design UIs (e.g. in Figma)
  • Video streaming and/or real-time technologies
What We Offer
  • Challenging work at the frontier of AI-native healthcare
  • In-person collaborative culture in a beautiful work space in the Cambridgeshire countryside
  • An onsite gym and digital health subscription of your choice
  • Early stage equity with employee-friendly terms (via an EMI scheme)
  • Comprehensive medical coverage (including dental and optical) and life insurance
  • Optional remote working on Wednesdays, with an annual allowance of 10 extra remote days
  • Desk setup allowance for your favourite keyboard / mouse / whatever!
  • Monthly team feasts (and the BBQ is used most days)
  • A fast paced work environment geared towards excellence and professional growth (with annual training budget)
  • A chance to have a big impact in a small team transforming care and outcomes at population scale
About Flok

More than a billion people a year suffer unnecessarily from conditions like MSK pain, where the right treatment approach is well-established but undeliverable at scale. We're changing that. Our team has deep expertise across clinical, engineering, and regulated AI, has a track record of healthtech innovation, and is backed by top VCs and multiple unicorn founder angels.

If You Like
  • Solving hard problems at the intersection of technology and healthcare
  • The pursuit of excellence—helping each other to do the best work of our careers
  • Working in an in-person collaborative environment
  • Taking ownership to have significant impact in a fast-growing mission-driven company with big ambitions
A People team built for ambitious businesses

The old model for People & Talent doesn’t work for today's businesses. We've built a better one.

Traditionally, early-stage Founders had two options: handle People & Talent themselves, losing precious time they should be spending on product or go‑to‑market, or hire a generalist, expected to cover everything from culture to recruitment to performance. We offer a more impactful alternative: A fully flexible, fractional People & Talent team with specialist skillsets and hands‑on delivery, ready to start driving impact for your business in weeks, not months.
