Job summary

RBC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build robust AI services and scalable systems for production AI workloads. You will work with a team of engineers and researchers to ensure reliability, performance, and integration across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities include API design, data models, distributed systems, and cloud/on‑prem deployment using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Strong Python and Golang skills are required, with a focus on observability and performance

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and software architectures for AI services.
• Experience with software engineering practices, including code review, testing, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying scalable applications and services using modern frameworks and technologies.
• Working knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift Container Platform (OCP4).
• Experience designing and implementing APIs, event-driven, microservices, and service-oriented architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and Golang.
• Experience with application performance optimization, caching strategies, and tuning distributed systems.
• Experience building and deploying applications across hybrid environments on-prem and major cloud environments, such as AWS and Azure.
• Experience designing data access layers and working with databases (SQL and NoSQL such as MongoDB).
• Basic understanding of machine learning model serving, inference optimization, and ML system design patterns.
• Exposure to deploying and managing agentic workflow systems and self-hosted ML models.
• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and logging practices to ensure visibility into system behaviour and performance.
