Job description

Position Overview

The Zynga Direct to Consumer team is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) to join our growing team of D2C experts and help champion software quality for our game store solutions. The Senior SDET will collaborate closely with the QA and Engineering teams to extend our automation platform across our suite of technologies and expand our automation coverage across our growing pool of supported game stores.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner engineering leadership to establish end-to-end test strategies and comprehensive test plans that align with business goals.
  • Architect and integrate automated testing suites into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless deployment.
  • Define, track, and report on quality and risk metrics to provide partners with clear insights into product health and release readiness.
  • Design technical solutions to increase testing efficiency and coverage, reducing the overall cost of quality through automation and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams to diagnose live issues and carry out root cause analysis and feedback into regression testing.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated end-to-end test suites for iOS and Android platforms using Appium, ensuring high-quality mobile releases and rapid regression feedback.
  • Lead and mentor other SDETs, supporting their career and technical development.
  • Build a culture obsessed with quality of gamer experience.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years building large-scale automation systems for Desktop (Win/Mac/Linux) and distributed services.
  • Expertise in automating UI/UX for single-page applications (SPAs). Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React.
  • Deep experience with modern web automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
  • Strong grasp of networked applications, performance testing, and static code analysis tools.
  • Proven track record to support live services and define rigorous bug-tracking procedures.
  • A collaborative, thoughtful engineer who enjoys helping others and driving cross-team initiatives.
  • BA/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
Bonus Points
  • Advanced knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for handling scalable test environments.
  • Experience with coaching junior SDETs, performing thorough code reviews of test code, and advocating for a "Quality-First" culture among the product and art teams.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between 108,900 and 152,500 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
