Summary
Deloitte is seeking a Senior Software Developer for a 1-year fixed term employment opportunity with a leading National Bank. The successful candidate will bring extensive expertise in Capital Markets products and venues, specializing in Fixed Income, FX, Rates, Commodities, and Equities. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of trading protocols, trade surveillance methodologies, and compliance transformation implementation. This role is responsible for designing and implementing configurable systems for processing order lifecycle events, supporting robust trade surveillance and compliance monitoring.
Typical Day
- Design and implement configurable systems to process Order Lifecycle events for trade surveillance across multiple asset classes.
- Build and maintain robust ETL/data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data using tools such as Informatica, Talend, Databricks, or SSIS.
- Develop and deploy scalable applications and workflow components using Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and preferred workflow platforms.
- Integrate backend systems and ensure efficient data processing across on-premises and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), leveraging modern DevOps tools for deployment and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Front-Office, Surveillance, Technology, and Data Management—to define venue-level and product-level data requirements.
- Ensure data completeness, reconciliation, quality controls, and data lineage tracking in compliance with regulatory standards (FINRA, SEC).
- Participate in Agile delivery, data mapping/specifications, exception management, UAT, and provide production support.
- Analyze market data and support the risk-driven onboarding of new data sources.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Compliance Transformation Implementation, specializing in Trade Surveillance and Trade Venue life-cycle management.
- Extensive expertise in Capital Markets products and trading venues (Fixed Income, FX, Rates, Commodities, Equities).
- Deep knowledge of trading protocols (FIX/FAST, ITCH, FpML, binary, proprietary).
- Proficient in Java for enterprise-grade application development.
- Skilled in Python scripting for automation, data processing, and analytics.
- Strong SQL skills for data querying and transformation.
- Experience with distributed file systems (HDFS) and modern data platforms (Dremio, Data Mesh, Snowflake).
- Familiar with MQ, Kafka, and REST API integration.
- Knowledgeable in ETL/data pipeline tools (Informatica, Talend, Databricks, SSIS).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Expert in trade surveillance methodologies (alert logic, rules, thresholds, pattern mapping) and regulatory standards (FINRA, SEC).
- Skilled in venue and product taxonomy, MARA inventory, and risk-driven onboarding of data sources.
- Experienced in designing OQT repositories (Orders/Quotes/Trades) and tracking data lineage.
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional workshops and engage with executives to define complex data requirements.
- Subject matter expertise in configuring and developing surveillance solutions for various asset classes, leveraging mathematical models.
- Strong analytical, problem, and communication skills.

Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $155,000. Additional bonus and variable pay opportunities may be available.
