Cohere is a leading security-first enterprise AI company headquartered in Toronto with global offices. We hire a Senior Product Security Engineer to review architecture and code, threat model before implementation, and drive secure defaults across our products.

You will work hands-on with engineers, focusing on risks like prompt injection, tenant isolation, and data exposure while shaping secure guardrails and patterns used by multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to contribute fixes to production codebases.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript for security tooling and automation.
• Experience leading security reviews or threat models for complex systems.
• Knowledge of common vulnerability classes and their design failures.
• Understanding of modern architecture including cloud, APIs, containers, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead security reviews of architecture, code, and changes to identify vulnerabilities and patterns.
• Secure AI-powered products by evaluating risks like prompt injection and data exposure.
• Threat model new capabilities and translate findings into mitigations.
• Perform hands-on testing, develop POCs, and partner with engineers on remediation.
• Build scalable guardrails and reusable controls to reduce recurring risks.
• Strengthen engineering capability and document practical security guidance.
• Influence risk decisions with clear business impact discussions.
