Job summary

Canadian Cancer Society is seeking a hands-on Salesforce Platform and AI Engineer to design, build, and scale secure, data-driven solutions that advance CCS’s mission.

This role combines Salesforce development, data modeling, integration, automation, and applied AI to deliver intelligent workflows, applications, and enterprise capabilities using technologies such as Agentforce, Einstein, large language models, and other Salesforce AI tools.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong Salesforce development expertise in Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, and APIs.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, security and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD and release management.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled solutions and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience with AI capabilities like Agentforce, Einstein and related tools.
  • Agile experience and collaboration with business, analytics, data engineering, security teams.
  • Salesforce certifications are an asset; experience in nonprofit sectors is a plus.
  • Bilingual French/English is highly preferred; roles in Quebec may require French.

MAKING AN IMPACT

We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Platform and AI Engineer to design, build, and scale secure, data-driven solutions that advance CCS’s mission. This role combines Salesforce development, data modeling, integration, automation, and applied AI to deliver intelligent workflows, applications, and enterprise capabilities using technologies such as Agentforce, Einstein, large language models, and other Salesforce AI tools.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Technical Leadership for AI-Driven Solutions
  • Manage and build AI-driven Salesforce solutions, including Agentforce, Einstein, LLM-enabled workflows, automation, and predictive or recommendation features.
  • Develop AI-enabled capabilities using Apex, Flow, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, APIs, custom objects, data models, permission sets, and integration services.
  • Oversee architecture and engineering decisions to ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned to enterprise standards, responsible AI, and least-privilege access.
  • Translate business opportunities into technical designs, prototypes, and production-ready Salesforce, API, data, automation, and AI solutions.
  • Guide teams through design, Apex and Flow development, code review, testing, release, deployment, and support of AI-enabled solutions.
  • Evaluate and operationalize emerging AI technologies, Salesforce AI capabilities, APIs, and integrations that improve productivity, scalability, and business value.
Integration, Data Architecture & Platform Engineering
  • Partner with data engineering to support Salesforce data pipelines and ensure APIs, data models, permissions, integrations, and platform services securely consume enterprise data for AI-enabled workflows.
  • Define data models, custom objects, metadata, automation, and integration patterns for AI workflows, real-time data access, model connectivity, and scalable Salesforce delivery.
  • Ensure data and integration designs support secure, governed, reliable AI use, including access controls, data quality, privacy, and least-privilege permissions.
  • Recommend Salesforce capabilities, API patterns, data services, and architecture approaches that improve AI performance, maintainability, scalability, and business value.
Platform Engineering and DevOps
  • Support Salesforce change management, including release planning, environment strategy, deployment readiness, impact assessment, rollback planning, and environment coordination.
  • Improve Salesforce DevOps practices, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, code quality checks, metadata deployments, and release governance.
  • Set development standards for Apex, Flow, LWC, APIs, integrations, configuration, and AI-enabled platform capabilities.
  • Use AI-assisted automation to improve update analysis, testing, documentation, release notes, regression review, and operational support.
Other

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience in complex enterprise environments, including technical leadership across solution design, development, integrations, and releases.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong Salesforce development expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL/SOSL, Flow, asynchronous processing, and declarative automation.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, security, APIs, integration patterns, and platform services.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications and services using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and secure integration practices.
  • Hands‑on experience with Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, release management, and environment governance.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled solutions, including generative AI, AI agents, prompt design, and AI‑assisted workflows, with an understanding of responsible AI and data privacy standards.
  • Experience with Salesforce AI capabilities such as Agentforce, Einstein, Prompt Builder, Data Cloud, or similar AI technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and work in partnership with business, analytics, data engineering, security, and technology teams.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II, Platform App Builder, Architect certifications) are considered an asset.
  • Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, healthcare, or other mission-driven organizations is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is highly preferred, with French being an asset due to the organization’s nationwide operations and the need for effective communication across various regions.
