Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Research Specialist to join our team. Our Valuations & Expert Services practice is a leading market player. We are well-known in Canada and abroad for our expertise and services to corporate clients, investment funds and their legal and other advisors.

At Kroll, your work will help deliver clarity to our clients’ most complex governance, risk, and transparency challenges.

Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Conduct efficient business, finance and legal research to support the professionals’ work on client engagements;
  • Filter, organize and report research results according to professionals’ needs;
  • Develop media-monitoring procedures around client engagements;
  • Work proactively with all team members to understand the context of the client file and specific information needs;
  • Provide market research and competitive intelligence to support client outreach;
  • Offer training and consulting on research tools and resources to staff;
  • Keep the print resource collection and online catalogue up-to-date – this includes pro-actively monitoring for new publications as well as loose-leaf filing;
  • Liaising with Accounts Payable and Information Resources regarding research- and collection-related acquisitions and invoices;
  • Maintain a SharePoint intranet and provide user-friendly enhancements in line with sound information architecture concepts;
  • Provide data entry and knowledge management support in relation to client files;
  • Miscellaneous other tasks as required by the Operations Manager.
Requirements
  • You have a Master’s degree in library/information science from an accredited university;
  • You are interested in building a career in business and finance information services;
  • You are familiar with information architecture concepts and user-friendly intranet design;
  • You have the ability to work in a high performing culture with time-sensitive deadlines;
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written);
  • You are self-motivated and organized with a keen attention to detail;
  • You are service-oriented, team-player who is eager to learn;
  • You have proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • You are able to travel to the Toronto office at least 2 times a week and/or as required
