Darbix Biotech Inc is a startup biotechnology company based in Quebec that leverages MIT-based chemistry and machine learning to develop next-in-class mRNA therapeutics.

Darbix is developing modified mRNAs to enable therapeutic possibilities currently very difficult to achieve with standard approaches.

Our novel technology harnesses the power of chemistry coupled to machine learning to impact drug discovery and development for rare genetic diseases, vaccines and cancer.

The Company is unlocking the potential to treat diseases currently unattainable with standard approaches.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate / Scientist to join our growing research and development team in Montreal, Quebec.

The successful candidate will be responsible the assistance of mid-to-late stage therapeutics development, biological testing, and in vivo efficacy studies for modified mRNA molecules.

This includes lipid nanoparticle formulation, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, immunoassay development, in vivo tissue analysis and microscopy techniques.

This role is essential to advancing our modified mRNA-based therapeutic platforms and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the lab lead, assist in the design, development, and optimization of cell‑based assays integrating mRNA delivery technologies, multiparametric flow cytometry, ex vivo functional analyses, and in vivo experimental models.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic laboratory records and ensure data integrity.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, draw meaningful conclusions, and present findings to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including molecular biology, chemistry, immunology and machine learning.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in RNA biology, nucleic acid therapeutics, and related technologies.
  • In collaboration with other lab members, maintain laboratory inventory, ensuring proper stock of reagents, consumables, and equipment for smooth day‑to‑day operations.
