Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years lab experience in the food and beverage industry and with GMP and HACCP Programs.
  • Must be capable of working evening and weekends as applicable.

What You’ll Do

Conduct standardized tests on food and beverages to ensure compliance to standards. Factors considered are microbiological, physical, and chemical composition. Products included in testing are fluid milk and creams, soft serve ice cream mix, yoghurt mix, frozen desserts, and incoming ingredients.

Evaluate retained product samples on organoleptic properties to verify shelf life. Taste or smell food or beverages to ensure flavor meets specifications and specific characteristics on select samples. Microbiological testing as required.

Provide ongoing monitoring of production processes. Monitor quality considerations for processes involved in both fluid production and ice cream production. Liaise regularly and maintain working relationships with various on-site groups (e.g., production personnel). Assist the QA Supervisor/Manager with supporting the facility’s HACCP Program to meet corporate food safety strategy and quality standards. Provide recommendations to improve the facility’s quality system based on analysis of data relative to food safety and quality performance. Promote a quality culture among all personnel. Provide HACCP, GMP and other training as per company quality manual to all personnel.

Interpret test results and document or record information. Enter, transcribe, record, store or maintain information in hard copy or electronic means. Record and compile test results and prepare graphs, charts, and reports. Assist Quality Supervisor/Manager with developing the company’s quality assurance procedures and writing SOPs.

Environmental Monitoring. Microbiological testing. Walk-through inspections.

What You Need To Get The Job Done
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday 10:00pm - 6:00am.
  • University Degree in Science (Food Science Preferred) or Diploma, Food and Pharmaceutical Technology or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years lab experience in the food and beverage industry and with GMP and HACCP Programs.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance audits.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement testing.
  • Must be capable of working evening and weekends in response to production times and business needs as applicable.
