Job summary

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to contribute to design and implementation of new or revised application systems.

You will work with Technology teams to enhance test strategies, create scalable automation, and mentor junior analysts. The role requires hands-on programming in Java/Python, expertise in UI and API automation, and experience building automation frameworks within a financial services trading context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 7+ years in SCRUM/Agile environment with Financial Services background working on Trading platforms.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch and implementing BDD frameworks.

Job description

The Senior QA Automation Engineer is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Implement scalable solutions for complex problems in quality engineering space.
• Hands on knowledge in programming and implementations preferably in java/python.
• In depth understanding of data patterns, data validations and various databases including SQL and NOSQL.
• Demonstrable knowledge in service level Automation using Java/Python
• Hands on expertise in UI automation using industry standard tools like Selenium, Cypress Etc.
• Expertise in setting up Test plans and Test Strategy for Quality Engineering projects.
• Collaborate closely with global BA, DEV & QA Teams for efficient test planning, test design and co-ordinate test efforts between Global Teams.
• Should be able to mentor junior resources and provide guidance and feedback on automation implementations.
• Should have the go-getter mindset and should be able to manage projects independently.
• Very good understanding about continuous test execution in lower environments and creating feedback loops to improve scripts and the quality of tests.
• Be ready to learn and implement best industry practices into QE space.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications

• 7+ years working in a SCRUM or Agile engineering environment with Financial Service industry background working on Trading platforms.
• With strong Financial Service industry background working on Trading platforms.
• Experience in building automation framework from scratch and implementing BDD framework
• Demonstrable knowledge of Core Java, Python, design patterns & SQL
• Strong working experience with both Selenium & API Automation.
• Proven track record in successful automation of systems with complex architecture
• Solid experience in building CI/CD pipelines in cloud platforms. (Private/Public)
• Experience in automating complex applications with multi-tier architecture and dynamic data flow between upstream and downstream systems.
• Nice to have experience of managing a small team

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
