Job summary

S M Software Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work onsite with a Manitoba public sector client in Winnipeg. The role focuses on requirements gathering, process analysis, and business process improvement in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities include stakeholder engagement, documentation, and liaison with IT and government partners. The position is onsite at 215 Garry Street, Winnipeg, with hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Commerce or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Minimum 5 years documenting and conducting process analysis and re-engineering.
• Minimum 5 years writing requirements, use cases and user stories.
• Minimum 5 years in Agile environments.
• Strong political acumen and critical-thinking skills.
• High-level communication, consulting and client relationship skills.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts and negotiate change.
• Ability to lead information gathering and frame problems for timely decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders.
• Analyze and document current business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop comprehensive business cases with costs, benefits and risks.
• Collaborate with IT, operations and management to align business and technology solutions.
• Create functional specifications and user stories for implementation.
• Conduct impact analysis for changes and enhancements.
• Provide guidance to junior analysts and teams.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance.
• Assist in developing training materials and conduct end-user training.
• Define and document business processes for current and future states.
• Act as liaison between end users, technical teams, consultants and government organizations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes through technology or changes.
• Read technical literature and translate for non-technical staff.
• Plan and conduct business process re-engineering projects.
