Job Title

Senior Property Accountant

Our Client

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and reconciliations
  • Handle complex CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, recoveries, and realty tax billings
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for assigned properties
  • Prepare annual financial statements, cost statements, and audit packages
  • Collaborate with auditors, property managers, and stakeholders to maintain financial transparency
  • Assist with financial integration of new property acquisitions
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements
Qualifications and Pre-requisites
  • 3+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems - Yardi is a strong asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to properties when required
