Senior Property Accountant

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and reconciliations
- Handle complex CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, recoveries, and realty tax billings
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for assigned properties
- Prepare annual financial statements, cost statements, and audit packages
- Collaborate with auditors, property managers, and stakeholders to maintain financial transparency
- Assist with financial integration of new property acquisitions
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and process improvements
Qualifications and Pre-requisites
- 3+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation (or in progress) preferred
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP accounting systems - Yardi is a strong asset
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel to properties when required
Additional Information or Perks
- Compensation : $90,000-$95,000 (based on experience)
