A growing property management firm located in Edmonton is seeking an experienced accountant to lead full-cycle financial reporting for its property portfolio. The ideal candidate has over 7 years of accounting experience, particularly in property management, and expertise with Yardi. Lead full-cycle accounting and monthly/annual financial reporting for a growing property portfolio
Oversee and review work completed by junior and intermediate property accountants
Revamp, structure, and spearhead the Property Accounting function
Prepare operating budgets, forecasts, and detailed variance analyses
Manage complex journal entries, reconciliations, recoveries, and lease accounting
Lead CMHC, lender reporting, and audit preparation processes
Drive system implementations and enhancements, with a strong focus on Yardi
Develop standardized processes and improve accounting efficiencies across the department
Partner closely with property managers, finance, and leadership teams to support operational and strategic goals
7+ years of progressive accounting experience (property management or real estate experience preferred)
Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting expertise
Advanced working knowledge of Yardi
Experience leading system implementations, upgrades, or accounting transitions
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
Excellent communication skills with proven leadership capabilities
CPA designation is considered a strong asset
High level of independence, accountability, and flexibility
Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP platforms
