Job summary

The main responsibilities of the Senior Project Planner are:

  • Apply the company's time management processes
  • Promote time management practices and culture within the project team
  • Capture and analyze the return of experience (REX) from projects
  • Develop quality schedules following company procedures, contractual requirements, and stakeholder inputs
  • Optimize schedules considering criteria such as on-time delivery, cash generation, penalty avoidance, and resource utilization
  • Validate the baseline schedule
  • Develop a Project Time Management Plan
  • Organize and lead regular schedule review sessions, challenging stakeholders' assumptions about time performance
  • Align commitments of internal and external stakeholders, manage schedule interfaces, and address inconsistencies proactively
  • Ensure timely updates of schedules and monitor stakeholder adherence to schedule standards
  • Identify critical paths and delays in complex, interconnected schedules
  • Guide the team in risk mitigation and opportunity seizing related to on-time delivery
  • Prepare schedule and progress reports with KPIs and Earned Value Methodology
  • Support the Contract Manager in protecting the company's rights in time-related disputes and conduct delay analysis

Educational Requirements: Engineering or Business degree

Experience: 5 to 7 years of project scheduling experience

Competencies & Skills:

  • Knowledge of project scheduling theory and methods
  • Proficiency in at least one scheduling software tool
  • Skills in MS Office tools
  • Basic understanding of time-related contractual obligations and penalties
  • Basic knowledge of railway industry products and technologies
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; effective team player
  • Ability to challenge teams and proactively propose solutions
  • Structured and critical thinking skills
