Job summary

Stantec in British Columbia is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver major municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects across BC, including treatment facilities, storage reservoirs, pump stations, and lift stations. The role focuses on driving project success and business growth within the BC Water practice.

You will mentor multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and maintain strong client relationships with municipal and industrial clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • P.Eng. designation and EGBC registration or eligibility is desirable.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Experience managing infrastructure projects with engineering fees around $2M+ is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the pursuit and delivery of major municipal water and wastewater projects across British Columbia.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager for large, multidisciplinary projects managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor to municipal and industrial clients.
  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, interviews, and major RFP submissions.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and growth initiatives within the BC Water practice.

Our British Columbia team serves as a primary design center for major water projects including potable water treatment facilities, storage reservoirs, pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, and lift stations. Our team is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a focus on leading and delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across British Columbia.

Your Key Responsibilities

As part of the British Columbia Water team, you will provide leadership in delivering complex municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects while supporting business growth, client development, and team development. You will lead projects from pursuit through delivery, ensuring successful outcomes for clients while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, budget, and team performance.

  • Lead the pursuit and delivery of major municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager for large, multidisciplinary projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to municipal and industrial clients.
  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, interviews, and strategic pursuits, including MSAs and major RFP submissions.
  • Provide technical and project leadership to multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior and intermediate staff.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and growth initiatives within the BC Water practice.
  • Champion Stantec’s Safer Together culture and uphold our commitment to business ethics, quality, and client service excellence.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and registration with EGBC, or eligibility for registration is desirable.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant professional experience in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing major infrastructure projects with engineering fees of approximately $2M or greater.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, communication, and leadership skills.
  • PMP designation or equivalent project management credentials are considered an asset.

Pay Range
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually
Pay Transparency:

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
