Job description
Senior Project Manager – Transmission Lines

Our Transmission & Distribution global practice has an immediate need for a Senior Project Manager to lead large scale electric Transmission Lines projects from early development through execution and close‑out. This is a hands‑on senior role requiring deep technical, commercial, and project controls expertise, with the ability to operate independently and drive results in complex, regulated environments.

This role reports to the Program Manager and holds full accountability for project delivery, cost, schedule, risk, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead transmission line projects across the full lifecycle: route development support, environmental assessment coordination, permitting, regulatory interfaces, land acquisition coordination, engineering, procurement, construction, and close‑out.
  • Support and participate in Northern Ontario First Nations engagement, including relationship management, negotiation support, and Indigenous procurement coordination in alignment with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Own commercial management including contract review and administration, development of commercial frameworks, RFP strategy, packaging, and execution, change management and claims support.
  • Lead the development, review, and challenge of project estimates, and build clear, defensible business cases to support funding and investment approvals.
  • Maintain full accountability for cost management: budget development and control, forecasting and cash flow, change control and executive‑level reporting.
  • Direct and integrate project controls functions (schedule, cost, risk), ensuring data‑driven decision making and actionable reporting.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (Engineering, Environmental, Community Relations, Indigenous Relations, Real Estate, construction) and align them to project outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, managing expectations, risks, and escalations proactively.
  • Identify and implement practical, non‑standard solutions when traditional processes are insufficient to achieve project objectives.
  • Promote a strong safety, quality, and risk‑aware culture across all project activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with direct experience on transmission line projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting environmental assessments and regulatory processes (PM perspective), route development and land acquisition interfaces, Indigenous engagement and procurement on major infrastructure projects, and strong commercial and financial project management capability.
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive results in complex delivery environments.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and/or PMP considered strong assets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
