Job summary

General Contractor in Toronto is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to direct major data centre projects (CAD 150m+). You’ll develop and execute project plans and schedules, ensure safety and quality standards, and manage budgets and scope with a proven track record.

Requirements include an Engineering degree, 10+ years in construction and at least 5 years in data centres, plus strong leadership and communication skills for a full-time permanent role.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required with 10+ years in construction; data centre experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets, complex schedules and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication with Owners, Architects and Stakeholders; leadership of project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion with design coordination, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare regular billings for Owners and ensure timely subcontractor payments.
• Meet with Owners, Architects and Stakeholders to communicate concerns and interests of the company.
• Monitor and forecast project costs to maintain cash flow and align with estimates.
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and escalate risks as needed.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor progress.
• Mentor and delegate to a large team while maintaining client relations.

Large general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to direct major data centre projects ($150m+). You’re a Project Manager with over 10 years of experience. You will develop and execute project plans and schedules, ensure the highest safety and quality standards. You have a proven track record for meeting budgets, schedules and scope. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role. Salary Range: $150,000 – $225,000 depending on location

Responsibilities of Senior Project Manager:

• Provide overall construction management from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent
• Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings
• Meet with Owners, Architects and other Stakeholders in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
• Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow
• Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression
• In conjunction with project team, submit project reports to Operations Leaders and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated
• You have experience in Acute Healthcare Renovations/New Builds
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards, union jurisdiction, labor agreements and negotiations essential
• Construction experience in post-secondary schools and student housing is an asset
• Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required

Education & Experience of Senior Project Manager:

• You have an Engineering degree and 10+ years of construction experience including 5 years of Data Centre experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• You have experience in engineering, design build/construction management delivery models/contracts
• You have a working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software
• You have the ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations
