Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation practice in Yellowknife. You will oversee major northern infrastructure projects, aligning engineering, environmental stewardship, Indigenous partnerships, and logistics to deliver complex solutions.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams across Canada, engaging with clients and governments to ensure project success and resilient communities through thoughtful planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading transportation projects, especially roadways/highways, in northern regions.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff within a regional practice.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation project delivery, schedules, and QA for roadway/highway design.
• Lead scopes of work, budgets, and level-of-effort estimates.
• Provide mentorship and quality control for plans, specs, and estimates.
• Support regional practice leadership and staff development.
• Maintain relationships with key clients across Yukon, Northwest Territories & Nunavut.
• Contribute to pursuit strategies and alternate project delivery methods.

As part of our North of 60 Transportation team, you will help shape infrastructure solutions in some of Canada’s most complex and meaningful project environments, where engineering, environmental stewardship, Indigenous partnership, constructability, and logistics all come together. This role offers the chance to contribute to nationally significant corridor projects while building strong relationships with territorial governments, Indigenous organizations, industry partners, and multidisciplinary teams across Canada.

Stantec is seekinga Senior Project Manager to join our growing Transportation practice in Yellowknife. You will engage with all aspects of our transportation and associated practices around Canada including roadway, traffic, multimodal, transit, planning and design, structural, environmental, hydraulic experts, and more.The person in this position will need a strong emphasis in project management and transportation engineering in the areas of roadways, civil, and drainage, highways and roadways/freeways.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects, delivery, and QA for the design of roadways/highways, intersections/interchanges and associated facilities to meet local, state and federal requirements.
• Manage the development of scopes of work, level of effort estimates, and project schedules.
• Provide mentorship and quality control for plan, specification, and estimate package preparation and submittal.
• Assist in the leadership and management of an established yet developing regional practice including mentorship of engineering staff.
• Support account management teams in establishing and maintaining relationships with key clients throughout the Yukon, Northwest Territories & Nunavut
• Offer creative planning and pursuit strategy solutions that support multi-disciplinary collaboration, client goals and objectives, and support and/or lead the pursuit strategy for projects including proposal development.
• Be familiar with alternate forms of project delivery such as design build.
• Support the creation of a diverse and driven culture developing tomorrow’s engineering solutions.
