Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid / Remote within Ontario)
Compensation: $125,000 - $155,000
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a nationally recognized architecture, planning, and project delivery firm with a reputation for shaping innovative, sustainable healthcare environments across Canada. They partner with health systems, private operators, and government agencies to plan and deliver complex healthcare infrastructure that improves access, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Their Toronto studio is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, financing, and execution of major healthcare projects. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who combines deep technical and financial acumen with strong leadership and communication skills.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of the full project lifecycle — from feasibility and business case development through design, procurement, and delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients, lenders, consultants, and contractors to ensure that each project is financially viable, strategically aligned, and successfully executed.
You will play a key role in defining project goals, developing financial models, managing budgets, and tracking performance against key milestones. The position requires both a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk across large-scale healthcare developments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project work plans, budgets, and schedules for major healthcare projects.
- Oversee financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to funding requirements.
- Develop and evaluate business plans and feasibility studies to support healthcare capital planning and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders — including architects, engineers, health planners, and financial advisors — to align design, function, and funding objectives.
- Manage procurement processes, contracts, and risk frameworks (CCDC, RAIC, P3 models, or Design-Build as applicable).
- Track project performance, identifying risks, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Facilitate communication between clients, consultants, and government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency.
- Support proposal development, fee structures, and resource planning across multiple concurrent projects.
- Mentor junior project managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration; PMP or equivalent certification an asset.
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience with a strong focus on healthcare or institutional infrastructure.
- Proven ability to develop and manage complex project budgets, financial models, and business cases.
- Solid understanding of healthcare capital planning, funding models, and government approval processes (e.g., MOH Capital Branch, Infrastructure Ontario).
- Experience with project delivery models including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and financial tracking tools; experience with Revit and other design coordination software is an asset.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of managing client relationships and complex teams.
WHY JOIN?
- Lead high-impact healthcare projects that directly improve access to care and community well-being.
- Join a nationally respected, multidisciplinary team known for excellence in healthcare design and delivery.
- Enjoy hybrid flexibility — work from Toronto or remotely within Ontario.
- Competitive compensation, performance incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
