Job description

Enerflex is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic Major Projects group in Calgary. The major projects group is responsible for engineering, design and manufacturing of projects such as integrated fractionation facilities, propane export terminals, and other integrated facilities where Enerflex is supplying multiple types of industrial modules or full facilities to the same client. In this role, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of large-scale EPF (engineering, procurement, and fabrication) and modular fabrication projects based at our Calgary engineering and manufacturing hub. From initial proposal and detailed design through fabrication and commissioning you will lead cross-functional teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and ensure compliance with project contract and scope.

Reporting to the Director of Project Management, you will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, project controls, and operations to drive project success.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead all phases of mid-to-large capital projects (USD 25M+), managing scope, change orders, risk, and client approvals.
  • Direct multi-discipline teams (engineers, discipline leads, project controls, procurement, construction coordinators).
  • Serve as primary client interface; facilitate meetings, site visits, and executive presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with company and client standards; oversee subcontractor and vendor performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons-learned, process enhancements, and mentoring.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Guide and train project controls team, coordinating technical, commercial, and fabrication requirements.
  • Oversee deliverables related to schedule, controls, billings, and change order approvals.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subtrades, and internal departments; manage stakeholder expectations and contract changes.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost forecasting (ETC/EAC), variance analysis, cash flow, and contingency drawdown.
  • Apply project controls methodologies including scheduling, EVM, and financial forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and budgets; track progress and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and cost changes with proper documentation and approvals.
  • Focus on major projects while supporting others; maintain accountability for tasks, action logs, and RFI coordination.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years in project management of large-scale EPC projects in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power generation.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams delivering complex, high-value capital projects in module and fabrication environments.
  • Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles and modular fabrication processes.
  • Expert in WBS, EVM, critical path analysis, and other project controls methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams).
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; able to present complex information clearly.
  • Collaborative, builds effective relationships, and influences stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive in identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Adaptable and effective in managing priorities in fast-paced environments.
