Job description

Our Substation team is currently looking to add anSenior Project Engineer to our growing team, based in Vaughan, ON.

Reporting to the Director, Technical Services, the Senior Project Engineer is responsible for nurturing and strengthening relationships with internal teams and clients, serving as the primary technical point of contact for clients as needed. Responsibilities also include offering construction support, generating non‑compliance reports when necessary, and promptly addressing inquiries from the construction team while ensuring the completion of project documentation. Additionally, the position entails identifying and suggesting solutions for issues and meticulously reviewing specifications, drawings, and test reports to uphold high‑quality design standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Writing and planning project scope, proposals, estimates, change notices, budgets and similar documents
  • Development of material and construction specifications
  • Prepare estimates, procurement support, material take‑offs, requisitions, design packages and technical evaluations
  • Track reception of material and inventory
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with internal groups and clients
  • Provide construction support, write non‑compliances reports (when necessary), and respond to information requests from construction team and ensure project documentation is completed
  • Find, recommend, and provide solutions to problems
  • Checking specifications, drawings and test reports to ensure high quality design
  • Run the Quality Plan and ensure the validity of documents related to the quality and monitor them
  • Act as liaison and technical resources for all construction personnel on the project
  • Other duties as requested and assigned
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical position
  • Registered Engineer or eligible for registration as an EIT with a Canadian engineering organization
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to travel and work on rotation
  • Maintain a class 5 driver’s license in good standing
