Overview
The Role : This position is crucial for improving the Endow Manitoba program and supporting the growth of community foundations. The person will build strong relationships with key stakeholders in Manitoba's community foundation network and heritage sector, working with foundation leaders and community representatives.
Key responsibilities include coordinating program activities such as regional meetings and conferences that share best practices, organizing Provincial Advisory Board meetings to evaluate program effectiveness, and managing the annual Giving Challenge to encourage donations.
The role also involves supporting the shared staff network and the Provincial Advisory Board by organizing meetings, improving fundraising strategies, and assisting with the grant-making process to ensure funds efficiently support local projects. Additionally the person will create clear communications to promote program goals, conduct research for decision-making, and engage in projects that strengthen philanthropy in Manitoba.

- Collaborate internally and externally to develop and implement programs aimed at enhancing Manitoba Endowment-based organizations.

- Identify and communicate best practices for meaningful operation of Endowment-based organizations.
- Cultivate and nurture professional connections, foster rapport with stakeholders, and strategically engage in relationship-building to support the achievement of program objectives.
- Employ a community-driven, evidence-based approach to inform decision-making, program development, and implementation of strategies ensuring alignment with community priorities and sustainable outcomes.
- Develop survey tools, data analysis and collection reflective of the community foundation movement.
- Project Management
- Facilitate workshops (virtually and travel to Manitoba communities) and collaborate among team members to develop workshop content.
- Planning, implementation and evaluation of The Endow Manitoba Community Foundation Conference.
- Collaborate with other departments of The Winnipeg Foundation to enhance programs and activities.
- Assist special research projects as required.
- Participate in internal committees / working groups.
- Oversee research projects in partnership with external consultants.
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
About You
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in business, entrepreneurship, development, commerce or non-profit administration
- 5-7 years of experience in the charitable sector or in a role serving the charitable sector; the non-profit sector with focus on governance, community engagement, administration, financial administration and grant-making are considered assets.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Experience in program development and management
- Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle
