The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:
Reporting to the Program Head of Human Resources, the Sr. Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing assistance in the development, delivery, and maintenance of all human resource functions, processes and services across the Institute; assist and/or oversee procedures related to recruitment and employee relations; take a lead role in the ongoing development and implementation of GDI’s onboarding process; participate as the HR rep in the GDI interview process; assist and support the collective bargaining team; assist in the development, monitoring, and reporting to the Institute’s strategic plan, and other department business plans; participate in policy review, development, and implementation; preparation of quarterly and annual reports for senior management review; participate as a member of the implementation team for the Institute’s upcoming Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Head of Human Resources.
The successful candidate will have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree combined with related work experience; a minimum of five years managerial/supervisory experience in a HR related area; knowledge and understanding of payroll processing, compliance, and related legislative requirements; an understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation; a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff and other agencies; minimum two years’ experience in a unionized work environment; extensive understanding of Métis culture and the needs of the Métis within Saskatchewan; and an understanding of labour laws, issues and trends within Saskatchewan.
