Marketing Generalist 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experience, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location
  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).
  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.

Team Overview

Marketing’s Demand Generation & Activation team drives growth through sponsorships, events, and account‑based marketing (ABM) to engage prospects, partners, and customers. The primary goal is lead generation, supported by pipeline acceleration, retention, and thought leadership.

What you will be doing
Strategic Planning & Alignment
  • Activate and communicate the team’s goals and vision, ensuring adherence across all team members.
  • Collaborate with team manager to scope and prioritize initiatives and align quarterly backlogs with business objectives.
  • Prepare for and participate in Business Review Planning (BRP), building quarterly backlogs, defining dependencies, and collaborating with other marketing Product Owners.
Backlog Management
  • Manage and maintain the product backlog, prioritizing work according to business objectives and strategy.
  • Scope work descriptions with clear objectives, Definition of Ready (DoR), and Acceptance Criteria, involving team members where relevant.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions to ensure clarity and business value.
Collaboration & Coordination
  • Manage scaled delivery of work with dependent teams.
  • Work with stakeholders to manage operational intake for prioritized initiatives, once vetted by the manager.
  • Identify and raise dependencies and roadblocks to the manager and help resolve them as needed.
Agile Event Participation
  • Actively participate in Scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
What we are looking for
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Communications).
  • Minimum 7 years experience in marketing and demand generation or related field.
  • Significant experience in Project Management, leveraging Agile or related methodology.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
What will make you stand out
  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
  • Presentation/storytelling skills.
  • Experience working with creative and event agencies.
  • Experience leading complex B2B marketing demand generation programs with multiple deliverables.
