Job Summary

The Senior Product Owner leads the development of complex features, larger product areas, or multiple product lines within a product portfolio. This role ensures delivery aligns to business outcomes and customer needs, with accountability for discovery, prioritization, and iteration. The Senior Product Owner acts as a subject matter expert, guiding squads and contributing to roadmap shaping while informally mentoring junior Product Owners. They ensure successful product delivery that aligns with the broader product vision.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own backlog prioritization for complex product areas, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead discovery efforts, market analysis, usability testing to validate problem statements and determine solutions.
  • Partner with Product Leads and Designers to shape medium-term roadmap and quarterly objectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, customers, and development teams.
  • Define, monitor, and report on product metrics (adoption, conversion, CSAT, operational efficiency) ensuring product performance aligns with goals.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for product innovation, simplification, and customer experience improvements.
  • Champion agile best practices and continuous improvement within the product team.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap development process.
  • May informally mentor and guide junior Product Owners on backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and product practices.
  • Facilitate clear communication across executives, business leads and technology.
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, required.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent role in an agile environment, preferably with experience leading complex initiatives, required.
  • Expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product management tools, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product success from conception to launch and iteration.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in the airline industry, particularly with operational systems or customer-facing platforms, an asset.
