Overview

Senior Product Manager - Global Data Platform at Sanofi. Location: Toronto, Canada. Reference No. R2824623. Position Title: Senior Product Manager - Global Data Platform. Department: PLO AI Mesh Platform.

Base pay range: CA$125,300.00/yr - CA$180,966.66/yr. This range is provided by Sanofi. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

This role is part of Sanofi’s digital transformation and AI/ML initiatives, with a focus on leading a flagship global data platform and enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-enabled capabilities across the company.

Main Responsibilities
  • Product Vision and Strategy
    • Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and outcomes for Sanofi’s global data platform.
    • Define the product ecosystem and ensure seamless interaction between components to provide an exceptional user and developer experience.
    • Establish strategic partnerships across Sanofi, including Digital and Business groups, to drive adoption and alignment.
    • Connect business needs with technical capabilities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
    • Prioritize initiatives and negotiate trade-offs across diverse stakeholders.
  • Execution and Delivery
    • Manage the product backlog, ensuring clear priorities and continuous refinement; empower decisions related to product features, backlog prioritization, and release planning.
    • Lead a team of Product Owners and Associates to deliver on the OneMesh vision and roadmap through coordinated release plans.
    • Assess and improve product management and delivery processes to maximize team efficiency, velocity, and impact.
    • Partner daily with engineers, data scientists, and scrum masters in an agile pod structure.
    • Drive launch readiness across cross-functional teams and lead post-launch adoption.
    • Understand and adjust for nuances and customizations required for technical platform product, including cloud, data, and AI infrastructure, vendor capabilities, and key user needs.
    • Take ownership of product budget and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources while achieving product goals.
  • User Advocacy and Value
    • Own the user experience - act as the internal voice of the user, representing data and ML engineers, analysts, data scientists, and more.
    • Define success metrics (KPIs, business value, technical performance indicators), track outcomes, and continuously improve product value.
    • Lead change management initiatives, including training programs, user onboarding, and support mechanisms, to enable successful adoption of new data products and features.
    • Incorporate user feedback to deliver continuous improvements and measurable business value.
    • Provide clear, consistent updates to leadership and executives on product progress, challenges, and decisions.
  • Governance and Compliance
    • Ensure solutions align with best practices in architecture, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (GxP, SOX, data privacy).
    • Oversee and facilitate integration across technology products and platforms, ensuring interoperability and consistency within Sanofi’s technology ecosystem.
    • Maintain operational excellence and resilience at global scale.
About You
Key Functional Requirements & Qualifications
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to seamlessly connect business priorities and technical solutions.
  • Skilled at prioritizing across competing demands in a complex, multinational environment.
  • Naturally curious, asking “why” to uncover business needs and “how” to shape effective technical solutions.
  • Proven experience applying Agile product management practices to drive delivery.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solver who can challenge existing processes and propose innovative approaches.
  • Hands-on experience managing products for data and/or cloud platforms built for technical users.
  • Track record guiding large-scale data platform initiatives (data lakes, warehouses, or cloud-native solutions).
  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams, clarifying requirements, resolving conflicts, defining roadmaps, and ensuring execution.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information sciences, or other related field.
  • 9+ years’ experience in data transformation, migrations, and development/implementation of enterprise data platforms (cloud-based, data lakes, or relational warehouses).
  • Deep understanding of technical platform products and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists.
  • Strong knowledge of platform technologies (cloud, data, AI) and how they enable business value.
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud ecosystems (AWS preferred) and contemporary data/AI practices, including DataOps, MLOps, and ML engineering.
